Fitch Ratings has revised its outlook for ANZ New Zealand to a positive stance. The bank's long-term issuer rating stays at A+. According to the agency the move is linked to potential new debt instruments for senior creditors. These instruments would help cover losses.
The move comes before fresh regulatory capital rules in New Zealand taking effect in 2028. Fitch also gave the same positive outlook to Westpac New Zealand.
