Members of Parliament have recommended overhauling the BBC's funding model. They recommend lowering costs and broadening financial support to cover areas outside of television. MPs also recommend abolishing the BBC's charter review and halting the broadcaster from undercutting commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to address the BBC's financial challenges as it faces a critical decision point. The recommendations come amid ongoing discussions about the broadcaster's next steps.
