The San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Dante Pettis following a workout. Pettis, who played for the 49ers in the past, was one of several players the 49ers evaluated. Among the players the 49ers considered was Jerry Rice's son Brenden Rice. The team also released a defensive lineman. The signing brings back Pettis with the 49ers after a previous unsuccessful try.
