Highway 3 is shut from Hope to Manning Park, disrupting local traffic. Wildfire activity made both lanes impassable, suspending travel. Travellers now only use the Coquihalla Highway, skipping the closure. The fire near Hope is burning northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, releasing thick smoke. Smoke is heavy and easy to see, reducing visibility. A second blaze erupted south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire covers 300 hectares. It prompted officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now closed.
