Nine crew members from China were arrested for illegal fishing in waters near Yeonpyeong Island.

Maritime patrol teams earned an official citation for their work. They had driven away illegal Chinese crab boats nearby.

On a separate matter, a prawn fisher from West Vancouver was fined $5,000. The fine was imposed because he dropped traps near glass sponge reefs.

Authorities say there will be no fishing for coho salmon in Lake Washington. This ban applies to anglers in that lake.
