An amateur skygazer using Google Maps came across a wide circular hollow in northern Quebec. Staff at Quebec’s geological survey verified it is a enormous meteorite impact crater roughly 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The terrain feature closely matches other confirmed craters and points to a cataclysmic long-ago blow. Satellite images were mapped against field data to substantiate the discovery.
