Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has halted taking new applications for family visa sponsorship for elderly relatives. Families can no longer submit forms to bring elderly relatives to Canada. The government provided no update on when or if the freeze will lift. New changes to immigration rules came just before the shutdown. This week data on work permit delays emerged. Yet, no plan to address the current delays was shared.
