Josh Worrell, Adelaide Crows forward, who is a regular player, was in a unexpected crash that occurred Friday before training session for the scheduled Gold Coast match.
The accident hurt a nearby pedestrian, who authorities then took to the hospital.
Worrell was not taken into custody at the scene of the incident.
Teammates told reporters in the media room Worrell seemed troubled after the crash.
Police now look into the incident as reported, and have released a statement to the press.
The club has noted they will check if Worrell can play in the game against Gold Coast, pending fitness assessment, if fit, and will look at the decision shortly.
