Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli headed home on Wednesday. They finished tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. At the same time, a large number of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa headed back to Japan after missions related to the Iran situation. The Tripoli berthed at its home port in Okinawa, wrapping up its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force concluded joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit rescued a one-week-old seal pup that was abandoned.
