A 7.4 tremor hit Mexico’s Pacific coast just before 6 a.m. on Friday.
A extensive tsunami alert went out for coastal strips across Mexico and Guatemala shortly thereafter.
The ground kept jumping, shaking towns further north into Guatemala and El Salvador too.
Moments after 4 a.m., a 7.3 quake shook the same area.
No accounts of harm or cracked buildings were received after the warnings.
