Nelson Toburen, a linebacker who earned two NFL championship rings with the Green Bay Packers under coach Vince Lombardi, has died at 87 after a fight against cancer.
Toburen played during the Lombardi era, a standout chapter in Packers history. The team ruled the NFL during those years, and Toburen was a part of that period of dominance.
After his playing career ended, Toburen went on to serve as a judge in Kansas, a role that defined much of his later life.
