A heavy winter storm brought the first snow of the season to Montana this October. Safety alerts and notices remained in effect while the weather hit the area. The storm caused several accidents and held up commuters. Winter enthusiasts found early-season powder after the storm and shared clips of the conditions online. One dog showed strangely to the white flakes. Sunshine returned to the area as the mercury rose slowly. This occurrence signals the beginning of cold season for the state.
